Documenting Aswangs
As far as world mythology goes, few people outside of Filipinos are really aware of Philippine myth. The problem in my opinion is lack of documentation. There are few books written in the vein of Edith Hamilton’s Mythology (and the scant few books that do get published either suffer from small print runs or lack the distribution to propagate them beyond our shores)so most of our stories and myths are passed on orally.
A Basic Introduction to Inca Mythology
This is the final entry in my basic introductions to Mesoamerican mythology (the previous ones being for the Maya and for the Aztecs). Like the previous entries, this has an appended list of the most significant books I used, should you be interested in finding out more.
Update on Proposed Google Books/ Author’s Guild Settlement
The Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) – represented by President Russell Davis and Past President Michael Capobianco (also the SFWA representative to the Author’s Coalition) – participated in a conference call Dec. 6 led by Paul Aiken, executive director of the Author’s Guild, along with a number of other writers organizations.
