2008 Preliminary Nebula Award® Ballot
Brook West, Nebula Award Report editor, announces the draft Preliminary Ballot for the Nebula Awards® for 2008. Subject to minor changes.
Some of the stories on this Ballot are available for reading online. Links to those stories can be found at http://www.sfwa.org/awards/2008/NebPrelim2008.html.
SFWA members may nominate no more than five works in each category.
The final ballot will be mailed in early March.
The Nebula Awards are voted on, and presented by, active members of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc. Founded as the Science Fiction Writers of America in 1965 by Damon Knight, the organization began with a charter membership of 78 writers; it now has over 1,400 members, among them most of the leading writers of science fiction and fantasy.
The Nebula Awards Weekend will be held April 24-26 at the Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard, with the awards presentation banquet to be held on the UCLA campus to tie in with the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

Because a work is eligible for twelve months starting from its date of publication. This was intended to eliminate the bias against work published at the end of a year that had almost no hope of making ten recs before the year turned. (There really isn’t a foolproof way to arrange things here, However we do it, somebody loses out.)

Why is it that all books here, save one, were published in 07?
